Honda, Honda Technology Research Institute Company Limited, is an example of the biggest Far Eastern automobile, bike and lorry makers. After contemporary statistical data, Honda is currently the fifth largest car manufacturer on the planet.

At the same time, Honda is the biggest, most important engine manufacturer across the planet. Honda today is among the most acquired brands in the US and they have come a good distance to become the most trustworthy carmaker on the planet.

Soichiro Honda set up Honda back in 1948 in Japan and it began with motorbike production. Since, after World War Two Japan was demanding little, inexpensive cars for its growing population, Honda's bikes were a massive success.

The company began to expand its motorbike range and it shortly became one of most crucial bike manufacturers in the East. Whilst Honda's first car appeared in 1960, it wasn't till 1970 that Honda imported its first car model, the tiny N600, in the US. Because post WWII America was reluctant to Eastern products, Honda found it a hard time capturing the Americans' trust with its vehicles.

In 1973 Honda has launched Civic in the US, perhaps its most single best selling vehicle across the world. Civic offered enough interior space and it offered a big fuel potency that it shortly became an Yankee success. The world faced a fuel crisis in the early 1980's and Civic was the vehicle USA citizens required, as it was cheap, reliable and it offered good fuel consumption.

The 1973 Honda Civic be a surgeon. the first Honda car to catch to the Yankee public and it was then that the company begun to witness bigger and bigger sales In America.

In 1976 Honda launched its medium sized vehicle, the deal in the US and as the economic situation worldwide was beginning to enhance, it shortly changed into a success. In the mid 1980s Honda was seen across the US as an automobile maker that was making very reliable and technologically sophisticated cars.

In fact, Honda's vehicles were such a big success in US that in 1989 Honda won with its Accord model the distinction as America's preferred automobile. Just like other Japanese car makers, Honda has 2 vehicle divisions : Honda that is making preferred cars and Acura, its luxurious brand and Honda Dealers began selling its Acura models in the start of the start of the 1990. Folk trying to find sportier and more magnificent automobile had another brand to choose. Technologies like Honda's VTEC ( that stands for variable valve timing ), aluminum engines and hybrid engines made the company one of the finest selling Eastern brands in US.

Today Honda's offerings to the US is massive, including sports models, family sedans, SUVs, minivans, pick-ups and hybrid automobiles and due to their inventions and technologies used, Hondas have a world wide reputation of trustworthy and safe automobiles.

Honda also has several facilities and building plants in the US, both for technologies development (such the Honda facility in Raymond, Ohio ) and for vehicle manufacturing such as the Honda plant in East Liberty, Alabama where the firms is building the Civic sedan, its Civic coupe model and the Honda CR-V SUV.
